Kathryn wins Hamster Go Go !

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

There I was with my two boys watching some nostalgic Knight Rider when Kathryn rushes through all excited to tell me she has won a hamster.  How am I going to photograph that I thought?  I was only half listening as Kit was being attacked by rockets much to the delight of my two boys.  The reality was that she had been called by Kate Walsh and Ian Wright directly from Five Live after winning a competition to win the latest must have childrens’s toy!  Our schnauzer wasn’t as impressed as the two boys on hearing the news, though we’ll need to watch her steps with any hamster in the house as her terrier tendencies mean she likes to chase objects!  Anyway, I hope not to be tempted to photograph any fake hamsters once this little animal arrives via Postman Pat.

International Ramblings

Just a quick note of thanks to Johanna for translating the German message in relation to the German version of the book, Pet Photography Now.  I occassionally receive messages in languages other than English and try as best as I can with the translation, it can prove difficult.  On another note, 5 images from Paws Pet Photography have made their way into the recent series of “Inspire Guides” produced by Design-a-Glow in the USA.  We were the only UK contributor to this educational series on “Dog Photography”

How Now Mrs Cow.

Monday, July 13th, 2009

This image was taken with a mobile phone camera and then enhanced slighly.  Crazy though it sounds, I can remember learning much of my photography many years ago by using cows as subjects.  Aspects such as depth of field, perspective, quirkiness value all came flooding back to me when seeing this cow recently at the side of the road.  Anyway, here she is, never quite heard the name but a real character.  This cow also marks the end of an era with the website since all will be changing very soon.. so watch this space.Cow image

Happy Christmas

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Happy Christmas to all of our pets both locally and far afield.  This wish is extended to the owners of such pets too!  It’s been a really exciting year and 2009 is going to bring many more surprises that we are both planning and excited about including the photography assignment in New York. There’s been too many memorable moments of the last 12 months to share with you all concerning those dogs, cats and other creatures that have been in front of the lens yet I hope all of our past and future clients have a great Christmas.Bichon Frise dogs

Our blog has found a new home.  Hopefully this will make the navigation much easier for future posts and enable me to share some of the funny moments (and portraits) encountered on the various pet shoots!
